Calling all business hippies

Summercamp would be nothing without the people who come and offer their gifts each year.

And I'm delighted to share that the living legend Tad Hargrave will be speaking at this year's Summercamp.

We've been huge admirers of Tad's work for many years now. Our long-time collaborator Lana Jelenjev first introduced us to Marketing For Hippies.

Instantly, we knew we'd found a soul brother.

Like us, Tad is a hippy at heart who developed a knack for marketing (and then learned to be a hippy again).

If I come across anyone struggling with marketing and being more visible, I always point them to Tad's work.

There's nothing he doesn't know about doing marketing the ethical way.

He's shown that you don't need to be a slimeball or sacrifice your values to grow your tribe.

  • He runs workshops that transform people's relationship to marketing

  • He has an incredible body of work online available for free

  • And has a thriving membership community

If you don't already follow him, it's time you did.

Tad Hargrave giving a one-to-one at Summercamp

We were lucky to have Tad join us at Summercamp back in 2023 for an impromptu visit from Canada.

Then he offered campers one-to-one mentoring sessions for the whole weekend, for free.

This year, he'll be speaking about the 7 Fundamentals of Ethical Marketing:

  1. Ethics

  2. Space

  3. Niche

  4. Point of view

  5. Business model

  6. Hubs

  7. Sharing

And no doubt share the odd poem or campfire story.

People like Tad lead with generosity.

They don't come to speak and then disappear the same day. They stay for the whole weekend.

Open to impromptu conversations over meals, coffee, in the sauna or on a morning walk.

This is why people call Summercamp a 'shoulder-to-shoulder' event.

There are no egos.

There's no judgment.

Just 150 people inspiring and supporting one another to do greater things.

We've been working hard behind the scenes to elevate the experience and make this the best Summercamp yet, in our 13th year.

Once again this year, there will be inspiring talks, wellbeing experiences in nature, live music and movement, and 20 workshops on everything from unlocking your deeper purpose and making friends with AI, to how to make a living from your wildest ideas.

As well as this, we also have fantastic new caterers, Field Food, luxurious new bell tents, and posh showers & loos from The Showering Shepherd.

This year is one not to miss.

If you've always thought 'next year', this is that year.

If you've been before and not yet got round to booking, this is your friendly reminder.

🏕️ Summercamp takes place 11th-13th September at Frickley Lake, Sussex, England. Join the waitlist for our next ticket release (2/3 of tickets already sold)

“The older I get, the harder I am to impress. I've been to a lot of entrepreneur events and heard about plenty more, but few have impressed me as much as Happy Startup Summercamp.

I had the chance to go in 2023 and was so deeply impressed with the quality of the event, the simplicity and depth of it. I met some of the finest people and had the best time.

It's an entrepreneurial summer camp full of swimming, music, crafts, walks, learning, saunas, improv comedy, dance parties where you get to DJ three songs (and more) BUT for adults who are working on their business. I give it an unreserved 10/10.”
