Do you commit to an idea?

Summercamp workshop 2024

If you’re stuck in “figuring things out” mode, this one’s for you.

I see it all the time: brilliant, purpose-driven entrepreneurs with so many ideas yet no traction.

Not because they lack creativity.

Not because their ideas aren’t good enough.

But because they’re afraid to commit.

The inner dialogue goes something like this:

  • “What if this isn’t the right idea?”

  • “What if I choose wrong and waste time?”

  • “What if there’s something better I haven’t thought of yet?”

And so they wait.

For clarity.
For certainty.
For some cosmic sign that says, ‘this is the one.’

The thing is: No idea is perfect from the start.

Ideas don’t become great in your head.

They become great through action.

Summercamp 2024

Why commitment creates clarity

If you never commit, you never build momentum.

You keep spinning in circles, second-guessing, researching, overthinking.

But clarity isn’t something you find. It’s something you create by choosing and moving forward.

Think about it: how many things in your life became clear after you started?

  • Your first job

  • A relationship

  • A big move

You didn’t know exactly how it would go.

You just took the next step, learnt, and adjusted.

How to pick (without the pressure)

Instead of searching for the perfect idea, ask yourself:

  • What excites me enough to commit to—for now? Not forever. Not for life. Just for this season.

  • What small step can I take this week to test it? Forget the five-year plan. What’s the next action?

  • What’s the worst that could happen if it doesn’t work out? Really. Will you be ruined? Or will you have learnt, grown, and gotten closer to what does work?

This is exactly what we help people do in Vision 20/20.

Pick an idea.
Test it.
Build momentum.

Because waiting for certainty is a guaranteed way to stay stuck.

We’re now enrolling for Tribe 11, starting mid-March.

If you’re ready to move from overthinking to action, let’s talk.

Committing to an idea is easier when you’re not the only one.

Do you have a community of others who are taking brave steps and learning along the way?

Find others who are committed to action by joining our Vision 20/20 small group coaching program, our Alptitude leader’s retreat, or our business retreat for hippies at Summercamp.
